Bio
I am a freelance Art Director, Designer and Photographer having recently completed masters degrees in Art Education and New Media Design. My research is framed within the field of Visual Anthropology, a practice often rooted in Photography and documentary film making. The choices we make regarding everything from the close we wear to the coffee we drink affects and is affected by our culture. In a world that has become increasingly “flat”, that affected culture becomes broader and broader.
I specialize in Documentary style wedding and family portraiture, blending posed images with depictions that might be thought of as coming from the fly on the wall. Photojournalist style wedding photography is a wonderful way of capturing that special day (or two) in a way that blends traditional images with photographs that appear to be rooted in a more nostalgic memory space.
My interests within the field of design and photography includes an interest in the nuance that allows us to remain individuals within an incrasingly homoginized social space. While mass production seems to be ever increasing in demand and offering, individuality too has its place. My photographic explorations seek out these nuances creating a tapestry of imagery that highlights our unique ability to remain, simply that, unique.
