I am a freelance Art Director, Designer and Photographer. My research is framed within the field of Visual Anthropology, a practice often rooted in Photography and documentary film making. The choices we make regarding everything from the clothes we wear to the coffee we drink affects and is affected by our culture. In a world that has become increasingly “flat”, that affected culture becomes broader and broader.
I specialize in Documentary style wedding and family portraiture, blending posed images with depictions that might be thought of as coming from the fly on the wall. Photojournalist style wedding photography is a wonderful way of capturing that special day (or two) in a way that blends traditional images with photographs that exist in a more nostalgic place that conjure up memories of the experience, like a dream.
We seek individuality, augmenting our lives with nuances that allow us to remain individuals within an incrasingly homoginized social space. While mass production seems to be ever increasing in demand and offering, individuality too has its place. My photographic explorations seek out these nuances creating a tapestry of imagery that highlight our unique ability to remain, simply that, unique.
